Why Do I Endorse Silver Brush?

That's easy to answer. Silver Brush makes top quality brushes that deliver what I expect, because of their fine construction.

Each artist has his or her own technique. In order to work with a tool that delivers the type of brushwork that I use in my plein-air paintings, I require a brush made of the finest quality Chunking hog bristle. That is exactly what the Silver Brush Grand Prix™ series delivers. In Grand Prix, my preferred style is the flat shape.

I also recommend Silver Brush Renaissance™ Pure Red Sables for detail work. The spring in these soft hair brushes is important for delivery of the stroke of oil paint to the support. Layering paint, blending, and re-shaping for a stroke all need a flexible brush. The handle needs to have some weight to it, like a well balanced piece of silver. Silver Brushes have properly balanced handles, with graduated size and weight matched to the brush head.

With Silver Brushes, cleaning is easy, right down to the ferrule, because the bristle fills the ferrule properly and a triple epoxy seal keeps the bristle tightly in place and protects the handle.

Morgan Samuel Price was instilled with a profound respect for nature at an early age. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, her earliest memories are of the beautiful rolling hills in Ohio. At age nine Morgan moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she was introduced to the lush beauty of the tropics.

As a child, Sunday drives through the countryside encouraged Morgan’s love of nature. Her fervor for art was further fueled by frequent outings to the Cleveland Art Museum. Her career was, and still is, nurtured and fully encouraged by her inspirational mother.

After graduating from the prestigious Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, Morgan began her professional art career at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. This was followed by work as Creative Director in a publishing firm and then an independent endeavor in architectural rendering.

In 1972 Morgan reached a turning point and successfully began her career as a fine artist. By 1979 Morgan was conducting workshops around the country and exhibiting in national competitive exhibitions in New York City. She has studied with many prominent artists including Loren Wilford and Robert Carl Cogar. Today, Morgan enjoys sharing her painting career with others through her worldwide workshops, her book, “Oil Painting with a Basic Palette”, and her instructional DVDs and videos. Morgan is also teaching, “LIVE” on the Internet at artacademylive.com.
